Nature is built in such a way that even people with very healthy bodies accumulate toxins, and by the age of 30, if we do not resort to a fasting regimen for our body, we can accumulate 5 kg of toxins. In conclusion, cleansing is mandatory; the important thing is to individually choose the method.
There are several methods of toxin release such as colon cleansing with an enema, colon brush, sweating, starvation, or a special dietary regimen.
Regarding colon cleansing or starvation, only doctors can comment; in the first case, we can destroy the microflora if we do it ourselves, and starvation can lead to hormonal imbalance, which results in many kilograms and problems.
Sweating is important because it eliminates toxins from the body and helps us lose weight. If you've noticed, it's harder for us to lose weight in winter because the body sweats with difficulty; it tries to retain fats to keep warm. For this reason, during the cold seasons of the year, we must dress the accumulation areas very well so as not to stress the body. In a word, one hour of exercise a day and we maintain balanced sweating.
However, we can cleanse ourselves through a special dietary regimen, which dietitians also call detox. What is detox really and why is it so recommended? It helps us to restore our basic functions, especially those of the liver and gallbladder, which are extremely important. The liver is what filters everything in the body, and if it is overloaded, then the risk of diseases increases 10 times. Detox means eliminating stress from our body, including the nervous system.
Theoretically, detox can last 10 days; I tried 3 and 6 days. I concluded that for my body, 3 days a month is enough; I become lighter and feel a restart that lasts me a good period (if I overindulge, it's harder for me to resort to detox the second month). Why 3 days? Because this specific period of time is sufficient for the body to flush out all toxins.
During detox, it's good not to work, but to rest; the body will not eliminate toxins if it feels stress. The hardest day is the second because the process of eliminating toxins begins.
You may experience headaches; generally, they appear for a short time, caused by the body's adaptation to the new regimen. It's better not to take pills.
Salt, sugar, alcohol, tea, coffee, vitamins, medications (only the most important ones), and carbonated drinks are forbidden.
In the next article, I will share my detox menu.
Stay healthy!
