I can't help but adore this recipe, because the result is exceptional in such a short time. There's no need for a mixer or too much effort to fill the house with the aroma of bread. And baking bread and working with dough is like a meditation; it can't help but bring pleasure.
Ingredients:
-
1 kg flour
-
700 ml water
-
20 g honey
-
14 g dry yeast
-
50 g oil
-
20 g salt
Method:
In a bowl with lukewarm water, add the honey, salt, and yeast and mix. Then add the flour and mix the dough a little with a spatula. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the dough rise for one hour.
After the first rise, lightly mix the already well-formed dough, cover it again, and let it rest for another 30 minutes.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface, flatten it, and fold it into thirds on one side and then into thirds on the other side. Dust our developing bread with a lot of flour, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it proof for one hour.
Transfer the dough into a 5L heat-resistant pot, cover it with a lid, and quickly place it in the oven preheated to 240°C. Lower the temperature to 230°C and bake the bread for 30 minutes. Then remove the lid and bake for another 15 minutes at 200°C.
Normally, the bread cools for an hour. I hope you can resist; from experience, I never have.
Bon Appétit!
