Shrimp cocktail is believed to have originated in the United States, becoming popular around the 1950s. Its roots stem from San Francisco.
The original recipe consists of ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco, and vinegar.
It became a dish that often accompanied social gatherings and elegant events.
Well, I haven't managed to make homemade ketchup, but I really like how it works with thick tomato sauce.
I must mention that the taste of fresh shrimp is incomparable to frozen ones.
Ingredients:
1 kg of shrimp from Ocean Fish
paprika
juice from half a lemon
250 g tomato sauce (marinara)
optionally, you can add slices of green olives
a few sprigs of parsley
a few sprigs of green onion
salt and white pepper
Method of preparation:
Season the shrimp with salt, white pepper, paprika, and lemon juice. Grill them.
Mix the other ingredients in a bowl, transfer the sauce to a nice dish, and arrange the shrimp around the rim of the dish.
Bon appétit!
