Lentil buns are dense, very nutritious, and a healthier alternative to regular bread. I suggest storing them in an airtight container after baking.
Ingredients:
- 160 g lentils
- 160 g whole wheat flour (plus extra for shaping the buns)
- 100 ml water
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
*black sesame for decoration
Instructions:
- Before preparing the buns, wash and rinse the lentils under cold water and let them soak overnight. You can place the lentils in a bowl with 2 cups of water and let them soak for at least 8 hours.
- Place the lentils in a blender and add the water. Blend until you get a smooth paste.
- Pour the mixture into a bowl and add the remaining ingredients.
- In a bowl, put a little flour, shape a bun from the soft dough, and coat it in flour; this process is a bit meticulous.
- Bake the buns for 40-45 minutes at 170 C until they are golden and beautifully browned.
