Description

Gyokuro Asahi is a top Japanese rarity, also called "Dew of a Pearl" or "The Finest Dewdrop." It is considered one of the most prestigious green teas in Japan. The Gyokuro tea region in Japan is considered exceptional in tea production and yields small quantities of exclusive tea using only traditional, manual methods.

The tea bushes grow in the shade of broad-leaved trees, and before harvesting in late spring, they are covered with bamboo mats two weeks before plucking. During this time, the chlorophyll in the leaves intensifies, and they acquire a deep green color. The fine leaf has an intense, slightly shimmering green color and releases a noble, strong aroma with sweet notes. An impressive blend of tender mildness and typical Japanese flavors, accompanied by a concentrated umami, vegetal taste, similar to matcha tea.
