Starting with the 14th century, Chinese porcelain became increasingly used in Europe, being one of the most precious materials of the time, predominantly used to make dinnerware and decorative vases. The blue and white shades of porcelain represent the foundation of the technique - alla porcelana. Thus, the combination of these two colors offers the energy and blue brilliance of cobalt - a trendy shade, which seems to be the most popular color among people.

"The need for simplicity and escape from the realm of technology is largely why consumers are craving blue, like Chinese porcelain, which brings us closer to natural elements like the sea and sky, bringing serenity to any space," says Dee Schlotter, PPG color manager.

Thus, the blue-white color, called Chinese porcelain color, seems to be the top color among major designers. This will be found in interior items, clothing, textiles, stationery, etc.

The deep, silent marine tone is becoming popular in residential and fashion design. This was the conclusion of the color experts from the paint brand PPG, who today named Chinese Porcelain - a rich and traditional blend of cobalt and flood blue - the color of the year 2020.

The founder of the fashion house "Lanvin", Jeanne Lanvin, was a great admirer of the color, namely blue. Starting from her passion for color, she opened her own dye factory dedicated to experimenting with colors in 1923. Since then, the color blue has become one of the brand's symbols and is still very widespread in the collections, accessories and the French Lanvin universe.

Chinese Porcelain is found in the Royal White collection from Pip Studio, which also combines the two shades: white and floral blue, alternating with gilded graphic elements.
